The Mini Reef Layer (MRL) comes complete with a brand new Tohatsu 18hp 4-stroke engine
(click the engine to read full specs).
The MRL is 19 feet long and 8 feet wide. It is constructed with fiberglass on marine plywood using
epoxy resin; the complete unit and pontoons are sealed inside and outside with epoxy resin
sprayed by our special process. It has 4 flotation pontoons with a tapered shape to allow better
performance in the water. Four sets of mooring lines are fitted to hold it at the edge of the sea
when loading plus a danforth type anchor for sea operations. The canopy is marine plywood coated with
epoxy resin and is detachable.
The deck frame is steel coated with epoxy chromate, epoxy oxide, epoxy enamel and clearcoated with
epoxy resin.The deck itself is marine plywood epoxy resin coated and then painted with a rubberised
system as used for gas station forecourts.
A 40 foot extending conveyor is supplied to allow the delivery of the coral units to the seabed.
The MRL can carry 25 coral units at a time, approximately 1.8 metric tons, with 12 inches of freeboard.
The pontoons are treated with non-TBT antifouling. A glass bottom view box is provided so the
operator can view the bottom activity.
