Mangrove Rehabilitation System Device.

 

The Technostrat MRSD has been designed to enable mangrove forests to be replanted and at the same time provide a simulated environment for mangrove root dwelling creatures and spawning fish.

 

The device is 6 square meters and contains 27 seedling planters, which are designed to permit the growth and expansion of the plant. Each planter is equipped with abaca rope wicks, which transfer water to the root system and also simulate mangrove roots for marine life. Mangrove seedlings can be collected and transferred to the planters where they are protected from damage.

 

The devices can be joined to make large areas and may be deployed very quickly. They have a variable height positioning system to accommodate the local inter-tidal zone conditions. They can be used with canals and peripheral caging to permit aquatic farming at the same time, as the forest is being re-established.
